Good afternoon everyone. Another late post but better late than never. First I want to say RIP Patrick Swayze. He was a great man and actor!!
The picture is the harbor of Stockholm, Sweden. It can be found at http://www.earth-photography.com/Countries/Sweden/Sweden_Stockholm_Port.html.
The next thing on my agenda is my opinion. Don’t like it?? I don’t know what to tell you…Leave a comment or something.
Yesterday I was looking at a celebrity discussion board and this person put up a post for a petition to get Ellen DeGeneres off the air. They stated it was for reason we all know but never actually put down why. He said he didn’t want his girls to be influenced by her. Now most of the time I am not very vocal with certain opinions but there are a few subjects I feel very deeply about and this happens to be one of them.
I want to tell this man that if you are going to post that, be man enough to state reasons! And is it really affecting your life? I mean really, shouldn’t you be worried about something more important like your daughters education or the welfare of your family, maybe?
We all have our opinions but people are so un-accepting and it is not doing a damn thing but making it worse. We all have our prejudice but I truly believe a person should be judged on who they are, not who they decide to be with or what they choose to believe in. Most of us in the world are selfish. We would rather think of ourselves. Now I do think when it comes to family you should put them first but that is another discussion. We are greedy people. We waste our time worrying about things that don’t concern us. I have heard people say about abusers or rapists or terrorists that they should get treated the same way. Does it justify treating them that way? I can’t answer that. There are morals in that. It is not just black and white, gray covers most of that area. Does that make you a bad person for feeling that way? No, of course not, but when you judge people who are different than you, do you deserve to get treated that way in return?
I, for one, applaud Ellen and all the other people who find the strength to be who they really are and the people who stand up for them. When it comes down to it, religion plays a part also, but you get what you give. You have a problem with it? Take it up with someone who is also willing to waste their time because I am not.
Not all Muslims are bad because of what happened, not all gays, bisexual, transgendered, lesbians, etc are bad. Yes, there are people in every group who are truly bad people but don’t judge a whole group on a few bad apples. You might just end up missing out on the best friend you could ever have.
In conclusion, judge a person on who they are. Look past prejudice and you might just find that they are people just like you and me and they feel just the same. Patience is a virtue?? So is acceptance.
